Galán closes the gap with Coello and nears number 1 spot

Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto secured their first Major victory as a duo. The Madrid native has significantly narrowed the gap with Arturo Coello in the battle for the number 1 position, making the competition more intense than ever.

Individually, Galán is now just over 1,000 points behind Arturo Coello. The left-handed Coello has 14,481 points, while Galán has 13,342 points. Tapia holds the third position with 12,833 points.

Fede Chingotto trails somewhat with 10,279 points. However, the Argentine has climbed two positions in the rankings, reaching the top 4 for the first time in his career. Lebrón and Di Nenno have both dropped one position.

The next tournament is the Genova P2. As a lower-tier event, there are only 1,000 points available for the winner and 500 for the finalist. Galán cannot yet reach the number 1 spot, but he can get closer to Coello.

In the 2024 race, Coello and Tapia are still leading with 7,880 points. Galán has 6,980 points, and Chingotto has 5,830. It is important to note that this ranking takes into account the results achieved within the calendar year. Galán has accumulated more points from the early tournaments with Lebrón.
