Galán & Chingotto win in Genoa: fastest final ever!

Chingotto and Galán have once again defeated Coello and Tapia in the final of the Genoa P2. In a final completely dominated by the number 2 duo, several statistics stood out.

Chingotto and Galán managed to win the fastest final in Premier Padel history. In just 45 minutes, they dispatched Tapia and Coello with a double 6/1. The number 1 pair had previously won against Garrido and Yanguas in the final of the Qatar Major in 53 minutes (6/0 6/2), but their main rivals broke the record this weekend.

Additionally, with only one unforced error between them, they achieved the lowest mark in a Premier Padel final. That single error came from the Argentine Chingotto. Galán recorded a match with 21 winners and 0 unforced errors. An incredible performance.

The battle for the number 1 spot is becoming increasingly intense. In the 2024 race (annual points accumulation towards the Finals), Coello and Tapia have 8,180 points, and Galán has 7,480 points. Chingotto is a bit further behind, as he started the season with Momo González and not with the player from Madrid.
