Durban Masters Recap: Balwin Padel Shines Against World Champions!

The Durban Masters at Killarney Country Club was a thrilling event, packed with high-level competition and incredible achievements from our Balwin Padel team. Congratulations to Chozas and Augsburger, who emerged as the champions of the tournament, fresh off their recent World Championship win in Doha.

Balwin Padel players delivered an exceptional performance, with Tremayne Mitchell, Shaun Leagas, Pierre LeGrange,  Willy Lahoz, Jason Blakey Milner, Vaughn Hunter, Sebastian Brokmann and Aidan Carrazedo proudly representing us. Adding to the team’s spirit, Anna Wysoczarska joined as a dedicated supporter, cheering them on through every exciting match.

Highlight Performances: Victory and a Strong Semi-Final

In an exciting highlight of the tournament, Tremayne Mitchell and Shaun Leagas stunned the crowd by defeating the World Champions Chozas and Augsburger 6-4 in the round-robin stage. This remarkable victory showcased their skill and resilience, proving that South African players are more than ready to make their mark on the global padel scene.

Additionally, Willy Lahoz and Jason Blakey Milner reached the semi-finals, where they faced Chozas and Augsburger in a fiercely competitive match. Although they ultimately fell short with a final score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, their performance was a testament to their dedication and skill. Facing the reigning world champions, Willy and Jason demonstrated the strength of Balwin Padel’s team and set a high standard for future competitions.
